All donations to Sri Rakum School for the Blind are eligible for tax exemption under Section 80G(5) (VI) of the Income Tax Act.
Chandrakala, M.A., B.Ed. – the happy bride to be united in wedlock with an equally qualified, better placed bridegroom from Chennai, Chandrakala was with us since year 2000. Her slight vision – impairment did not prove a tumbling block in her progress in life. She successfully completed SSLC, B.A., M.A and B.Ed. through our Rakum Institution. She was the Directrix of our Sister’s Home till her marriage. A polite and sincere karma-yogi, she is gem of a girl of our Institution.
Siddarth, B.Com. M.A. – the successful bridegroom in winning the hands of Chandrakala in marriage. Though a victim of cerebral palsy, his strong will power, determination and dedication has raised him to the present Chennai. He wins every heart by his pleasing manners and smartness.
Really Chandrakala and Siddarth are made for each other. Their marriage was an arranged one with the consent and blessing of Acharya Sri Rakumji.
After formal Preliminary negotiations, the betrothal took place at Chandrakala’s house at Sarjapura, Bangalore. The marriage took place at Gondedhahalli, Chikkamagalur District, Karnataka between 9.00 a.m and 10.15 am.
A small ‘Devarutha Pooja’ was held on Saturday, the 11th February at 11.00 a.m at Acharya Sri Rakum School premises, Indiranagar, Bangalore. After lunch, the bridal party left for the marriage venue in three Vehicles. The School undertook all the travel expenses. The party reached Kadur Village and stayed in a decent lodge.
After the wedding rituals were over on 12th Feb 2012, the bride’s parents, relatives, Guruji, teachers and children left for Bangalore and arrived at Bangalore at 8.00 p.m .
On 14th February 2012, (Valentine’s Day), we had a post-marriage reception at Indiranagar School, which was attended by a good number of parents of our students, well- wishes and relatives of the couple.
Our School has spent about Rs.1,40,000/- (Rupees one lakh and forty thousand only) towards Chandrakala’s marriage from the school funds.
